The Turning Wheels for Kids – Big Bike Build is an annual event put on by the Turning Wheels for Kids Foundation. The goal of the organization has been to raise funds to purchase and grant bikes to needy kids all around the Bay area since 2003. This year Team Baynote participated in the Big Bike Build at the South Hall of Convention Center in San Jose.
Size of the Team
Along with 600+ other volunteers, the Baynote team helped build over 25 bikes in four hours with just 7 people. Moreover, an amazing 2,000+ bikes in total were built. Bikes for all ages and sizes were assembled in rapid fashion including this extra cute Barbie one seen here.
Team Building for a Good Cause
The event was fun and rewarding and the impact was seen first-hand, as two bike recipients were in the Baynote build area helping to build the bikes they would be getting for Christmas. Along with building bikes, Baynote helped keep the event light-hearted by sending two volunteers, Richard and Caprice, to compete in a “running man” dance competition for some prizes.
My colleague, Caprice, won in the end but you can watch the video below and pick a winner for yourself. If you would like more information on how you can help Turning Wheels for Kids just follow the link.
A big thanks to the team! Richard, Bill, Josh, Caprice, Eddie, Eric, and Giuliano.
