With the holiday season quickly approaching for both retail and e-commerce alike, there is a lot of pressure on different channels to have their website optimized, banner promos designed, inventory overstocked and holiday strategy finalized soon as in, um, yesterday.
Retailers truly are the elves of the holidays, working to make sure that the products they sell are at their very best (as an elf would do) and that isn’t limited to the physical products but it includes how the products are seen, purchased or even received.
In this cartoon from Tom Fishburne, he highlights the reality of the pressures that the elves (and retailers) feel, which is driven primarily by the lofty expectations of today’s shoppers. The humor is even stronger when the holiday reindeer makes a comment about free shipping the day before Christmas.
