After many years with Dell focused in their e-commerce group, Dan joined Baynote to bring his expertise to other retailers. As a true Texan, we’re happy to have him focused in our Central territory as a knowledgeable and outgoing Sales Executive.
What is your name? Dan Treviño
What is your current title? Sr Account Executive – Central Region
Tell us a little about your education and professional background. I started at the University of Texas as a computer science major and graduated with a BBA in Management. I was recruited straight out of college by Dell where I began in SMB and key account sales for 5 years. I moved into a technical sales role which helped me transition into managing engineers and project managers for Dell Professional Services for another 10 years until I moved into program management within Dell online. In my last role at Dell, I gained intimate knowledge of Baynote and how it powered recommendations on Dell.com and eventually jumped at the opportunity of moving to Baynote.
When you were a kid, what profession did you think you would pursue? I thought I would be a jet fighter pilot and then I realized I had to wear glasses and wouldn’t be able to pursue thatL. These days I aspire to own a bakery/café J
What is your motto or personal mantra? Live Life!
What attracted you to Baynote? Because I witnessed the power of Baynote technology first hand and learned more about personalization in general, I decided this is the area I wanted to continue growing in professionally. I view Baynote as a leader in this space. After meeting the people at Baynote, that further convinced me that I made the right choice.
So far, what are your favorite things about Baynote? Coming from a very bureaucratic large corporation, I enjoy the fact that things can get done much more quickly by having direct access to decision makers and people who know how to fix problems.
What are your top three favorite web sites you visit all of the time? According to Chrome, it’s my gmail account, dealcatcher.com and evrewards….I guess you could say I’m a shopper…
Do you play an instrument or have a favorite sport? I actually played Tenor Saxophone way back when… but haven’t had a chance to take lessons to get back to speed on that (I do own a sax though). Favorite sport right now is running, but I enjoy hiking and mountain biking and dancing (salsa).
If you could have lunch with a famous person (living or dead), who would it be and why? Myself 20 years in the future…I could be famous, you never know 😉
